Take a look at this interesting concept phone brewed up by Muhammad Oli of the Esato Forum, the Sony Ericsson W520i. True to the “W” in its name, Muhammad wants it to be a Walkman first and everything else as just an add-on. It will be a quadband phone with a touchscreen interface based on the A200 platform, a meager 2-megapixel camera, Walkman 3.0 player, A2DP Bluetooth support, and of course, the accelerometer. Add an FM tuner to the mix and you have your perfect middle-order music phone.
Slyder Sony Ericsson W520i equipped with a 2.0-megapixel camera with Auto, a music player Walkman 3.0 optimized under the administration of the fingers, Bluetooth 2.0 module supporting A2DP profile, the program to create MP3-ring tones, FM radio with RDS and four stereodinamikami.
Networks are not supported by the third generation. This concept of a mobile phone may only operate on the GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz),
You get a five-way navigator, call and end keys, and a couple of soft buttons for most of your basic needs, but it’s through the large touchscreen display — use your finger, not a stylus — that you’ll be accessing things like the Walkman 3.0 player and the 2.0 megapixel camera (with VGA video at 30fps). The designer also envisions the use of an image stabilizer, TrackID, Bluetooth A2DP support, FM radio with RDS, and four stereo speakers on the back.
Given the model number and form factor, Muhammad-Oli believes that the Sony Ericsson W520i would be a great music phone that’d hit up the low to mid-range market. Too bad it’s just a pipe dream and it has little to do with the actual phonemaker. Maybe they’re paying attention though.
